Biome Bosses
What this game needs is big and dangerous bosses that come every few waves. They have their specific graphic and skills set to create battles for Mr.Riggs that require some dodging and bit of tactic. Some thrill of fighting THE BOSS of the biome from time to time would create some diversity in waves and create window for single target weapons and mods to shine and be much more useful (sniper rifle). They would be coming at the end of the wave or alone to make fight fair without fear of getting swarmed by enemies.
Additional boss options in custom game would be more than welcome.

I've been saying this since a month post release 1.0 that this needs to be a thing.
The "one setup fits all" scenario needs to go bye bye and boss's would fix that.
Current ingame bosses are definitely NOT bosses, by any means.
I wouldn't even mind if the thing ends up destroying half of my "Endgame" base to fight off, we need more excitement.
The boss's could telegraph their attacks to make it interesting, something akin to extreme mode bosses in FFXIV for example.
They could come in normal waves sometimes too sure but I think it'll be much more challenging if the boss spawns alone and gameplay is balanced around his pressure being sent in solo (at first / mid game at least) -

MeGaAgreed, similar games like Vrising, tribes of midgard, age of darkness final stand and so have bosses every X wave, and makes it kinda fun.

CypherLike the gun system from Borderlands, it would be cool to have different 'parts' that come together to form the boss. So we never know what size, abilities it will have and how strong it will be.
Ie: 10 different choices per part, 5 parts, already makes a lot of different bosses.
One that burrows/digs into your base from ondergrond, or one that is nearly impervious (or resistant) to all types of damage. Maybe some that target specific buildings, like power en energy etc. -

Daren WatkinsThey should be what allows you to port to the new biomes. Until the biome boss is killed, you can't port to others. Also, the bosses should be much harder to kill, requiring dodging etc..

JThe only boss mob atm is the giant arachnoid I believe, there should at least be giant versions of a few other critters. Maybe even a giant version of one of the neutral things.

CILinkzi would also really like it if the End Wave, when you are building the Rift station and need to protect it is really massive and comes from all sides. it is currently not doing anything in Survival play so thats a bit sad. in the hardest difficulty they should come so hard you lose almost all your stuff and you barely made it.

LoannesI agree, there are not enough bosses.
After fully pumping the fur, it becomes not so interesting to kill hordes of monsters. -

BucktasakWhen it's pretty interesting fighint a horde of monsters(the more the better) there is a lack of boss monsters in waves. Think about this. You think there is end of the wave and then the boss is just casualy going into your base ; " i heard you killed my friend so i came to avenge him", something like that. There is a good fun to killinga horde of monsters but where is the excitement of killing THE BOSS who just casually went into i don't know the second third of your base.

ImglidinhereYou guys are already pretty adept at doing the megaboss deal what with XMORPH basically being a giant mechaboss fest, so I'd say to just bring that into the game and pour a little more energy into doing more of that, but less robot and more giant monsters. :D

DiTo fix this, I recommend adding super elites and bosses creatures:
1. Super elite (randomly spawned in waves)- Basically an elite form of the standard enemy with improved HP, damage, and multiple resists. There can also be immunity super elites.
Boss - These story driven bosses should appear at key points, such as the final battle. Since this is a TD game, the dev should include these creatures to 'test' our defenses:
a. Super tank - a creature with high hp and resist all, has an enrage timer. This is basically a DPS and repair check.
b. Teleporter - a creature that can teleport behind first line of defense. This tests to see if the defense has secondary/tertiary lines. It is like in they are billion where you gotta compartment.
c. Summoner - super long range that can summon. This can test the sustain (ammo/energy).
d. Energy drain - has an ability that can drain power, tests the robustness of the energy grid. -

LaeWhy was one of the most needed and voted for features in the game passively “passed over”. Aka not happening.
You guys really need to re consider this on the priority list. Take a week off working on ANY coding and actually play your game without dev tools up start to finish, without any mods or cheats.
You wont be able to say after that the time for it is now. Not later, or never
Not really a question. Needs to be the right time? That would need to be before coop drops. The game is already too easy, no real bosses in coop is going to make the game snoozeville no matter how good the SP play is …. ;( -

RainSome ridiculously large EPIC bosses to hunt and fight on away missions (to stop some sort of negative effect that it's sending your way) would be neat too. Similar to that "Nest" boss but way bigger and tough like the "Into the Dark" boss.
