Bigger defensive towers
Would be great if we could get some bigger towers for base defense, especially for the lategame.
Since we only got the heavy artillery as a big defensive tower (2x2 in size) and every other tower is pretty small (1x1 in size).
Since the defense of the base is split 50/50 between Riggs weapons and tower weapons, we should get more tower variety.

Making more creative tower. Stun tower, factory that can give you minion that follow you. firebase or fortress that can defense and power mining outpost. Can tower place on top of perimeter wall.
And also make minelayer and drone tower to actually usable....Like larger attack range or direct it to an area, like order the drone to follow you or attack an area. The minelayer can be order to automatic mine an area. It don't have to be really far or artillery range. Or just make the minelayer and drone tower to be 1x1 than 2x2.
Or an drone airport that can have drone to follow you. Or Airfield where you can bomb an area or something that can intercept an enemy wave.
More flying or burrow enemies (Graboid) where tower or defense for it. -

MeGaNot a bad idea. Orcs must Die 3 has something like this. Normal towers and siege ones, for bigger maps, where you can combine both. Maybe some kind of mega turrets for mega waves in HQ would be interesting. Or maybe another kind of map where the mega turrets are already placed (ancient tech) and need to be repaired or reactivated before a big wave comes. Like in a movie xD

HaxcaliburId like to have a VLS for big cruise missile with insane range, a huge bang, but extreme cost to operate and low rate of fire. Like heavy Artillery tower with Way more Range for slower rate of fire

PiisfunStrictly speaking, the Attack Drone Tower and the Mine Layer Tower are also 2x2.
That said, the Mine Layer Tower is so weak as to be basically unusable, and the Attack Drone Tower is situational at best (only for things that get past the defenses, or plant monsters popping up through holes in your flooring). -

KilltechBigger towers would be interesting, preferably as a replacement of the current tier 2 and 3 towers that don't really add anything to the game progression expect making the game difficulty late game too easy. Bigger towers should have also some actually interesting economy tied to them, like e.g. the need for cooling requiring more gameplay to set them up (and also a use for super coolant) - whereas plain upgrading of towers now is just a tedious task that doesn't require feel like it changes anything. also the tier 3 tower weapons models look too big on the small platforms causing clipping - they would be perfectly suited for 2x2 towers.

OvidMaybe consider a large turret variant (I'm thinking of the drones) where you can move the engagement area around.
I'm thinking of games like Surviving the Aftermath where you have a building where you can move the gathering area to new locations, except for Riftbreaker, it's defensive purposes. Things like dedicated minefield areas on chokepoints, or aerial drones.
...Or you could apply a similar method to a variant of Harvester Drones, so you don't have to have a Harvester Station right next to a Cultivator. -

Snakexdude11How about a weapons tower platform? A modular structure that allows you to build 2, 3, 4 (etc) different towers combined into one?

RWHi, I would suggest a tower like this : https://crossout.fandom.com/wiki/Emily
Functionality would be a tower with a revolving grenade launcher on top of it, would have a minimum range (so it cannot fire directly downwards, or near to its base) but would have a long range with wide scatter - purpose would be to saturate an area with 6 inaccurate explosives at longer range and then reload.
Would give some variaton to tower defense designs which currently are "as close to the walls as you can get it" for every tower and also allow interesting interactions with other structures. It also needs to make a satisfying "thunk" noise when firing, see underbarrel grenade launchers in Call of Duty Modern Warfare etc -

Supramaisternew towers to cover some of the enemies weaknesess, like acid towers, or some more varied defensive towers, variations on the same towers (specializations maybe), etc.

LaernuIf they're going to add varied weapons then those weapons have to be challenged with new enemy types or bosses
Theres no reason for this without new threat types. The game is already too easy. It would just toss out the balance to way too easy even more -

Vi_GrimmA tower that launches low orbit satellites that attacks enemies with lasers, kinetic ammo, or other ammo types. Can attack anything that is in any radar coverage even outside the base tower it launched from.

Wafflein the late game there are so many towers on the main fronts that you can barely feel the impact of most of them. A few more extreme towers would add nice variety and the real-estate cost would allow for more leeway with big stats (since space to put towers can often be the limiting factor at mid/endgame)

ImglidinhereI would legit love if some towers got bigger as they were upgraded, or that would have to be planned out. Like, the artillery turret might end up being a 3x3 tower, whereas the flame tower or sentinel tower would stay as 1x1. It would only ever affect the towers of varying tiers. Like, endgame towers being the largest at max level, weaker towers being smaller. Adds a little extra component to account for. :D
