New Biomes
The original four biomes released in 2021 were:
- Tropical Zone
- Radioactive Desert
- Acidic Plains
- Volcanic Area
Over the course of the next three years we have expanded the world of Galatea 37 with additional biomes. These came as the main features of our World Expansion updates:
- Metallic Valley (2022)

What about a Massive Creature biome? Not like "the creatures in this biome are all massive", but rather "this creature is so big it IS a biome we can explore"! I'm thinking like a certain dungeon in Grandia II, but Mr. Riggs stomping around inside this truly gargantuan creature that is (hopefully) sleeping or dead or otherwise just too big to care/do anything about the mech roaming around inside it. -

DanturnDark forest - where there is dark all the time
Wastelands - no wind or water (any type) only ash and the most powerful monsters but also the most powerful ore is here -

KilltechIt might be also interesting to have mixed biomes.
For example a map which one part is desert and the other slowly transitions into acid plains where desert vegetation becomes sparser while more and more features of the acidic plains emerge.
This would allow for very varied and diverse maps. -

ThyresTyronI would like too play in a arctic zone with snowstorms and thermal vents, where you need to heat up because of the very low temperature. It would also be a possibility to introduce a new material like a superconductor for better or new energy tech.
Another idea would be a highland, where you have to jump from plateau to plateau or small bridges like roots , with a lot of flying enemies. -

Hank MillerWell, how about an underwater biome? That would come really fancy. Something story driven, as water creatures couldn't raid on land. But some secrets of Galatea might be buried deep in the ocean :-D.

Argus SernCave Biome, thought I saw that in a trailer but it just looked like she was passing through some areas, maybe a massive underground cave with unique enemies. could be bat like, or something akin to very scary monsters with long arms and large ears. Dont need eyes in caves. That dont like light, so it forces you to build lights everywhere to keep them at bay.

NobuddyKeeping with the future tech theme:
Dark Matter Biome - high gravity (need special armor to resist) - gravitic weapons/upgrades (towers that draw ranged enemies close in, crushing towers, etc)
Antimatter Biome - special magnetic shielding required to not explode - anti-matter weapons (beam, missile/rocket) - anti-matter power system (worth 2 fusions, etc) -

DarkICE09I like a lot of the biome suggestions and have one that would probably be pretty difficult to implement with the game as it exists but is still interesting to think about. A tidal biome with different elevation levels. High elevation = safe to build & never goes underwater, Medium elevation = safe to build except during lunar/tsunami events, Low elevation = can build on but the tide will short circuit/damage buildings that don't have the right research upgrades or type, Lower elevation = almost always underwater except during events that reveal time-limited resources, Lowest elevation = underwater caves that have kaiju nests or ultra rare resources that need ocean drilling tech to access.

OvidUnderwater biome definitely. Potentially with an above-water beach map for similar gameplay as the Morphium Lake map.

SatuA coastal Biome with tide Waves temporarily covering the ground and replenishing Ressources and Enemy Lairs, with specific waves of maritime or half maritime animals that attack over the whole coastline in big waves, maybe even new buildings to that like floodwalls to keep the water at bay :)

DeLacueA flesh pit biome where a giant organism has integrated itself with the landscape. Low wind and solar and low ore but with minable animal biomass. Tree adjacent structures that release small weak enemies when disturbed. Scannable "plants" that can be grown in the cultivator for more animal biomass.

DasYiAn underwater biome. It provides several maps, each one is deeper into the abyss. Under it, you may find a big horrific boss, such as Cthulu etc.

BucktasakI think there little of difference in biomes in term of nature. You have desert/volcanic/tropic environment map but there is lack of cold map. where there is cold. There is no place to cover from temperature, wher you need to find a place to set a firecamp. I know that is game where the player is controling a person in mech but if there is a light there need to be darkness no?. If one place is too sunny than another have the lack of sun. Others can develop this sector of ideas.

CameirusThis is where the game can have so much diversity. cave biomes with restricted space and corridors, underwater biomes, alien tech/ruins biomes
You can add enemies that act totally differently in different biomes, from big massive titans in some, to swarms in others, flyers, tunnelers, ones that build up bases and nests, this is where the variety to keep the game fresh can be. -

Quentin LArtic biome would be a great addition, but underwater would be amazing too. Both opens many opportunities to add new mechanics/unité/techs to the game, and it could be great to open a thread for ideas somewhere if they end up under serious consideration sometime.

JustSomeGuyA nightmare biome.
Set in a valley, this entire area is covered with a dense, unnatural fog. Solar panels don't work, radar range is drastically reduced, and the mini-map fills in behind you. Anywhere out of vision (yours or bases) goes back to black after a few seconds. Worse, unobserved areas sometimes change. What was a solid mountain wall may have a canyon in it next time you pass by, or the path you took from one base to another may disappear into an impassible crevice.
Buildings with lights are your friend, visibility is fairly poor even at day. Most enemies creatures are bio-luminescent to make it easier to see them, but only when they're not aggroed though. If they spot you, they'll go dark to hunt. Of course, some don't glow at all, and it seems like they can just pop out of any patch of darkness.
Why would anyone come to this hellscape? A new resource that can only be found here. Sorry no cultivating this one, but the changing terrain does mean new mines can be found. -

OhDubYaI thought of two biomes that seem like easy wins. A few people have mentioned an Arctic biome, or possibly a Boreal Forest near the poles. Aside from the interesting look of a snow covered environment, the day lengths would change (always day/night) depending on the season. Another that crossed my mind is an Oceanic Biome. There are a lot of possibility for new creature types, plant life and resources for an underwater biome. Depending on the depth, there could be additional mechanics added in, aside from the other retrofits that would be required to the normal base buildings.

Tilk-HeroDIRTY BIOM
The open place with rocks and small number of trees. 30-50% of Terrian is dirt. Have increased wind and low sun. Sometimes the liquid dirt flow from some side on random place on map. This flow can damage and destroy the buildings. For protect the base from it you need build the walls and repair them before the liquid flood will gone. If some enemies will attack the walls and destroyed them - the dirt will flow into the base and disable affected buildings. Mr. Riggs will need to Clean up the territory by his collect-tool for repair all. This dirt can be collecting in empty storage.
The unuque creatures:
DIRT Snake - giant slow snake-work what slow moving on map randomly and can attack and chase Mr. Riggs and attack the base.
Dirt Elephant - creaure looking like elephant, but lean and tall. Neutral.
Dirt Fish - creature-trap. Sit in dirt and waiting when somebody will go to. After this creature jump to attack or lets shoot dirty spits with moving-debuff. -

Spectra8192I would love a sea planet with new underwater equipment and weapons , would love it if they also added pets and attack droids and miner droids ;) :)

General FrostMaybe down the road after a few more biomes make a combined map that mixes all the biomes in one map. It would have to be a large map but I think it would be cool.
Also id like a arctic biome. -

BenBiomes suggestions:
Underground, caverns Biome with glowing Mushrooms, lava pits, chasms etc.
Moon Biome, similar to earth moon OR inspired by any moons from our solar system, where sound is muffled, gravity is lower, new resources, Hydrogen burners to keep us warm (exact opposite to the lava Biome), old civilization tech.
Thin but vey long maps with only 2 attack vectors: top and bottom OR left and Right -

Seasonal SalmonInfested biome. A completely assimilated fleshy land mass. Creatures are afraid of UV light but attack heavily at night.

NachtIntellectElectrically charged underwater biome that generates electric field bubbles holding the water up.
Think of it as an electro-magnetic field inside the water, when the field weakens, water falls through and since it's already electrically charged it can do damage
It'd be something like going through water when there is a lightning storm and the lightning storm just happens to strike where you are in the water, maybe the water is ionized and it becomes something like an Ion cannon or different liquid?
I'm definitely for an underwater biome but it should not just be water, I've play around several times with the idea of it being entirely electrified and the more you damage the environment the more it destabilizes.
Potential enemies: Jugauger, (2 words comes from Juggernaut and Auger) an enemy that levitates and flies through the air (and potentially ionized sea) like a spinning auger rotating as it moves around.
Unfortunately that's all I can fit in here. -

Weining Changit would be really cool if one of the moons is also habitable and go there. Have battle out on with another faction from the planet to the moon, like the GDI and NOD., or Grey goo and Beta from video game Grey goo.
Moon or asteroid mining.
I think new technology developed from creating an AI super core (another AI character) that research from X-morph technology, one of these technologies will be go to the moon or mining asteroid. it can also explain anything else the main character can do after disconnected from earth, or new technology coming from DLC.
I like the idea of ocean or an island map (but island somewhat bigger than the Metal terror map). And a giant pipe or giant compressor that handle huge load. -

dasyiOutspace biome.
I mean a huge platform or battleship as the biome.
Ashley needs to buff it for battle or it is a mission of destroying enemy platform/biome.
An organic moon biome, cthulu or dead space style.
Ashley needs to figure a way to fight the nightmarish environment and demolish the entire moon. -

May this game never die -

ArcBlueTropical Islands biome. Variant of jungle biome with clear water as base and limited island network, colorful birds, dino passives, new water enemies and flying enemies. Most of these resources are already in the game and only require making a new biome and tiles.
Geothermal biome, with plentiful geothermal characteristics: hot springs, mineral pools with varied colored bottoms, formations similar to Pamukkale, high shooting geysers that can damage Riggs, earthquakes, etc. A giant worm that pops out of a deep hotspring pool that goes down into the earth farther than you can see? New water elemental?
Plateau biome. playable upper-plateau and lower-"hidden" valleys. Lower is jungle like and lush oasis, plateau is more barren and has different flora and fauna. Large pterodactyl-like creatures? sun/wind power is stronger on plateau, but geothermal and other power available in lower valleys. -

BlueKodiakHow about maps that float in dense clouds, similar to the Hallelujah Mountains from Avatar, due to their geological peculiarities. Similar to the caves, you could place the maps at different heights. Instead of going lower, you could go higher. Bridges could be necessary to get from one "flying island" to the next. Or a catapult and then connecting via the mini portals. In terms of climate, this biome could be located anywhere. A tundra zone would be new. We start at ground level and then go higher and higher, with more sparse vegetation and increasing frost, snow and wind.

SgtDragoonArtic or Underwater.
I'd prefer Artic just because building would still me manageable and a well done snow region always looks great.
Underwater cool be a really epic DLC though. See a giant whale swimming past.
