Should have to launch a satellite before using orbital bombardment and orbital laser
They are cool, but it doesn't make sense how we have them.

OvidThis could even be presented as a story campaign objective, to build a satellite launch facility (or integrate it into the Orbital Scanner???), that then opens up the possibility to research the Orbital attack skills.

Kurt HeilYou could Create a lot of missions based around building up the infrastructure to create an orbital satellite network which you then use to scan the planet for even more rare earth resources.

SenorRagequit AdminIt should be reworked, so instead of having the orbital bombardment be a loot drop, have it be unlocked with a building.
But it being a loot drop AND having to build a building is too much effort for some explosions on my screen. -

srs008a simple quest, a new building (per orbital ability). would add a lot to the game, it'd be satisfying to go overboard on this, for example, the artillery strike. why not weaken it dramatically so it's a single or dual shell attack, and then allow the player to build further support later. making it modular.
launch a new satellite, and presto. slight improvement to the power output and range of coverage.
change the attack cursor so that holding it adjusts the area of bombardment. and it's been refreshed into something that can be used to deadly effect with skill.
this way, the player has to choose if they want to upgrade that ability, or build the rest of the base. as i'd imagine costs would be exponential (ahem, it's network infrastructure complexity okay). if you get 15 shells, with decent but not great blast range. you can sink them into the entire screen's range. probably hitting lots of things. or you can shrink it down to around 4x4 build tiles for big hardened targets. -

Pierre LeuretGreat point.
I Use this ability a lot and wonder every single time where the fuck it comes from.
It looks great though, don't change that. -

RockDemonIt seems to me that these skills should be converted into researchable buildings, after the construction of which these skills will become available to you. My idea is to make these skills require ammunition - let's say you have built one building that will give you a maximum of 10 charges, so when you press the key you will drop one bomb and when you hold it down you will drop everything you have in a limited range (like a charged shot) as the buildings increase, the ammunition will increase, of course there is limit of these buildings. You can do the same with the laser - with one click, 1 charge is spent and a second laser is precisely aimed at the target, and with a charged attack, a wide beam will follow the cursor for 10 seconds (or try to if you started to run away).
So I understand that it is more difficult to make an order than what is already in the game :)
