  Yeah, maybe a building like the liquid compressor/decompressor, but for energy. Maybe some kind of pylon that has a long delivery range, like the range of the artillery tower.

  Power grid floor tiles could be a thing. They might make buildings placed on them cost a percent more energy (reduced through research) to run but wouldn't be as fragile as the power grid network nodes.

  some form of longer-range energy transmission would be nice. maybe power poles/microwave transmitters/etc that connect to each other over a long range but require power nodes for distribution from the pole.

  Did someone say... wireless electricity?? Maybe we could have the option of building ranged-devices or tesla-towers to transmit power wirelessly. I'm sure Nikola would be proud!! 🐱‍👤

  Upgradeable energy network just like everything else that can be upgraded in this awesome game. Let us do high availability networks! Maybe even a building that can do power wirelessly, range increases with more power consumption for itself?

  something to replace wire(nodes) for energy delivery to all buildings and towers close by.
  like repair or shield tower, make energy tower, all buildings in it's area have power, so you only have to protect that tower and wire to tower instead of +10 wire nodes. (turning 10 weak points into one stronger weak point would be nice)
  maybe create upgrade to chain wireless towers, if their areas overlap (nice light line between them), only first need direct connection to wire.
  this would create nice combo for temp. mining outposts (Energy Pylon + electricity tower(maybe tesla tower))
