Load up your favorite equipment and set off to a dynamic biome with a large hive of increasing spawning enemies!
Don't take on the hive alone, with Mr.Riggs at your side, a new building has been developed for use, a Matter Synthesizer, which requires sludge, Cobalt, and super coolant to create smaller, less durable Mr.Riggs'. Outfit these new allies how you please and lead them on an excursion to wipe the enemy hive off the plant... untill they return

Quentin LThis idea has great potential ! Random maps in campaign showing up with destroying the central nest as primary objective would be cool and add some flavor (though Ashley might disagree) . The option to craft and equip "miniriggs" To accompagny you would be an awesome addition and would work well with the "barracks" Idea as a defense building

srs008i like the idea. it allows the game world to become significantly more deadly, and offers a in lore way to control it.
i'm also for the drone army, but i think the tech level is WAY too high for this feature. this is something that should be the first "excursion" mission.
maybe we can launch a drone carrier into orbit (superweapon/ability), and call the drones down
around riggs for a short time.
take mr riggs to weaken the "global" threat. and it'd tie in really well to allowing outposts to be attacked without the player. and players wanting a challenge can simply let the threat level rise.
getting too intense, go on a rampage.
it should take a while to "grow" their base to a reasonible threat.
the drone army idea allows the attack to get too intense for riggs alone. and that is a important factor to have. because the enemy should just swarm riggs the moment he's in the area. letting them get out of control should be a legitimate game ending threat.
