EXTENDED STORY CAMPAIGN
The main Story Campaign has been expanded with a brand-new, fully voiced story arc, expanding the endgame of The Riftbreaker. We have also added the possibility of generating new campaign missions via the Planetary Scanner interface. This has been a part of our free update released on August 25th, 2025.

I want to see more giant bosses like the one in "Into the Dark" or even tough bases like the ones in "Metal Terror" -

Michael BreauxYes! I love radiant missions, and exploring new areas with limited or targeted objectives (like the siege at the end of Metal Terror) would be amazing. Maybe even introduce limitations like enemy mutations that change their resistances? Something to keep playing and keep it fresh.

Logan MartiI'm perfectly in love with both of the current leading suggestions. Co-op multiplayer and extended story.

Nicolas GendronAlong with an extended campaign, I would love to see more missions that disables/invalidates some tech because of anomalies or specific fauna/flora in the immediate area. (Ex : easy fauna, but extremely limited power options or resources, space limitations like the fluid map of MT, extreme waves combined with tunnel shaped map creating kind of a tower defense style map, in-map jumps disabled, extreme fauna with the possibility of luring or various fauna in-fighting, ai bases to beat - could be from home world disagreeing, low resources map with fauna waves destroying flora used for farming - protect your farms !, etc.) I could see a series of those that force the player to cycle among the strengths and weaknesses of various base/equipment elements, forcing to solve the survival puzzle differently each time. Each one being a new kind of challenge.

J MergedSomething like an enormous thumper that triggers an attack whenever you activate it.

RinshunThe campaign is too easy even on the hardest setting. Survival is too hard even on the easiest setting.

NairbThis still sounds like two distinct features to me. More unique scenarios and missions would be great, but are probably more work intensive to make.
** The ability to generate an additional map of a specific biom and difficulty is what I sorely wanted once I reached the end of the game. Even if they have no story significance at all. This would allow me to better customize my network of outposts, and also fish for a more interesting map to really spend time building on. I think that feature is included in this suggestion, but I'm not positive since the focus is on higher "quality campaign missions". Maybe split this into two suggestions, or clarify the scope of this suggestion so I can tell if my idea is redundant with it. -

Nairb MergedExactly this. I couldn't tell if this is included in the "extended campaign" suggestion or not, but this is the main thing I want.

OvidI loved the nonstandard maps from Metal Terror. Going island to island in the pool of morphium and doing both naval assault and island defense, and the finale's long map that you were basically assaulting an dragging a morphium pipe behind you to open up an (easier) way.
One potential idea? some sort of point-to-point teleportation (in function at least), that would send you to a new part of a map, which is otherwise impossible to get to (like the environment is impassable and it's too far to short-range teleport [skill]). -

Piotr RybakExtended campaign with some sort of continuation after. Plenty of people don't want the game to finish with the story.

JonathanI would love to see some colonisation management coming, with a governor giving you tasks to complete with "download points" for military technology as reward.

Kurt HeilNew worlds to explore and conquer would be awesome. An entire campaign where you jump to an X-Morph occupied world and you have to build up bases and infrastructure to kick them off of it so humanity can claim it. Maybe it could be a Riftbreaker Spinoff. I absolutely love the Game you guys are awesome.

Cezar Van KaneI would extend the campaigns with more planets with randomly generated biomes and add simulations of attacks on outposts in our absence.

KrisLot of my problems with the game was that it kinda got lost in menial jobs in the mid game. Having a story to focus on would help remidy that a bunch.

BucktasakI think there little of difference in biomes in term of nature. You have desert/volcanic/tropic environment map but there is lack of cold map. where there is cold. There is no place to cover from temperature, wher you need to find a place to set a firecamp. I know that is game where the player is controling a person in mech but if there is a light there need to be darkness no?. If one place is too sunny than another have the lack of sun. Others can develop this sector of ideas.

DoomsoughtI'd like to see Ashley helping setting up the initial colony. Do some research missions to figure out how to process local plant biomass into human safe rations. Set up the foundation for a habitat block, then feed it water and deal with sewage production, then finish the habitat block. Then clear out nearby nests to reduce attacks on the colony.

Quentin LI really love that suggestion, both the new campaigns entirely, and the "random missions" With targeted objectives. It would keep the game going

Icarus.kReally hope new story campaign, or it is so boring after base has been well protected.

JustSomeGuyI'd like to see an optional objective during the main campaign that would allow communication with earth. Something in the environment, a natural formation of weirdness on Galatea 37 that could enable short messages back home. We don't HAVE to do it, the rift station is our main priority and it will allow contact anyway. But if we do, it changes the game.
The communication hubs already allow contact to us from earth but they don't talk as they're basically blind. 2 way comms would justify changes to the mission, more dialogue, new characters, etc. Ashley wanted to co-exist with the environment, Earth may offer a way to test if it's possible. Build a colony (as Doomsought suggested), reduce mining to 0, find a way to pacify locals, etc.
Could expand the endings too. If the rift's opened, does the world keep the environment or get turned into a factory? If it's not opened, Earth is probably pretty angry with her and likely to say so. -

EmanueleZeroDawnHi,
thank you for Riftbreaker.
I'm a single player fan not so much for MP so my proposal is just on that scenario, sorry,
My idea is to pass to the next phase of the main story: we're on Galatea to look for suitable new colonies area and there we are. So after the main campaign and the metal DLC (I''ve not yet finished that because I restarted at brutal) maybe we can proceed with... the phase 2: bringing humans on the planet and begin the construction of the real colony. Of course we may face a long list of unexpected events while doing that: exploration missions to find cure for disease, aliens infecting citizens like in Alien the movie and so on. The portal is active so why not manage colonization?
I know my idea is huge to fit a DLC, maybe better for Rift2: hope anyway something like that will be done one day :)
Kind regards. -

OlloudiosCan we have something new campaign with new outpost. But not just outpost but like metal terror with Main map we could use Late tech and build a great base directly.

UnrealMore of the same?
No thanks
If the world update 2 comes with bosses & fresh threats, not re-skins of the same gameplay, then, I'll sign up. No upvote here til then -

ZeroZodiacHow about few events with several ways to resolve them and you get different tech etc depending on what you choose.
We don't have a flood plain biome yet, right?
"X years later" scenario where things are looking better for Earth and they can afford to send you to find out what happened to some riftbreaker mission that didn't succeed? Maybe a mystery setting with some pew pew to liven things up? -

noWith enough procedural generation I'll buy all the expansions, but until then my wallet is closed.

Weining ChangCan you add something like starcraft when many different factions campaign. Like maybe the playing as X-morph, another alien race, or the planet's native Gaia. Or another human faction with different equipment. Or something that will get all faction get together and fight off the x-morph? What do you think?
-
18 Feb, '23
Weining ChangI see some cloaking creatures attack normal creature currently in map. For the into the darkness, there could be Morlock that attack surface creature that is destroying environment.
Also, maybe add a native race like Na'vi.....
I would love another human faction, why they can send main character to the planet, but they cannot send more people to find out what goes wrong? Or Ashley need to reopen the portal to earth again, this time they need to evaluate humanity from earth due to X-morph attack. or go back to earth from some reason.
Also, how about a human defense parameter that can protect a map from being attacked? Where there is now overwhelming attack from powerful enemies, and you need to create a choke point at narrow map to protect you base, at this choke point, you always being attack by really powerful enemies, it has limited resource, so all resources need to be off map. This can be great for x-morph or Morlock campaign where they send really power troop toward you. -

levitationJust spent over 100 hours playing this game, excellent. The main thing it's missing is an open world campaign. Make a world map and let me pick coordinates for landing sites at will. or interplanetary travel with rift portals. Being capped on expansion and exploration is I think the single largest flaw of this game.
